Finding the right Tarantula
With about 1000 species (different types) of tarantula known or described in the world, it is a great time to pick a T for your pet. Gone are the days of " it's either a Chile Rose or a Mexican Red Knee. " Although both the afore-mentioned are good first choice tarantulas. Now, tarantula spiders of all different colours and characters are available, and can be purchased to suit your tastes - be they " Arboreal, Terrestrial, Burrrowing, New World, Old World " - the list goes on.. To start off with, and particularly if you are a little nervous, a slow moving, mostly docile tarantula species may be best to choose, and also one which is quite hardy. Many Latin American tarantulas make good pets. All tarantulas differ slightly as individuals too in how they behave !!

About Us (more) ⤵️
Sim's Tarantulas is the company which is the driving force behind the parent company of Simon's Pets. Tarantulas are our main focus now, and we have experience in this area of pet-keeping. We started back in the late 1980s - keeping aquarium fish, specializing in the care and keeping of loaches.
In December of 1995 Simon acquired his first tarantula, a Mexican Red Knee tarantula {Brachypelma genus}, which has then led to the care and keeping of many other tarantula species over many years. Twenty + years means lots of fun times having been had in the keeping of tarantulas.
Interesting to keep, care for, study, and interact with - tarantulas are amazing animals, that are also a relatively easy pet to keep.
Maybe you will be inspired to even travel to see them in the wild !
